More D200 Testing
Continuing my testing with the D200, a Cuban Anole (Anilis equestris) served as an interesting subject in my effort to determine how well the D200 handles noise. Both of the images below were photographed with a 300/2.8 hand-held at an exposure of 1/800 at f/2.8. Both iamges were sharpened using Photoshop CS2's unsharp mask applied to the luminosity layer (the ISO 400 image receiving USM values of 250/1/0 and the ISO 800 image receiving USM values of 250/1/4). The D200's built-in noise reduction feature kept the noise for the ISO 800 image to roughly the same level as the ISO 400 image. However, ISO 800 noise reduction also resulted in some loss of detail when compared with the ISO 400 image. Still, the ISO 800 image maintained enough detail to be useful.

I'll post some more sample images when I'm done with my testing.
